The project involved the demolition of existing inoperable 80-foot hangar doors and the construction of three new 50-foot fold-up doors at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek–Fort Story. The new door systems were designed to improve reliability, operational efficiency, and aircraft and maintenance access within the facility.
Work included structural steel fabrication and installation, integration of new metal wall panels, and all associated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) work required to support the functionality and safety of the new assemblies. The replacement effort modernized the hangar’s entry systems, restoring the facility's full operational capability. The completed project restored full functionality to the hangar, providing a durable, low-maintenance solution that supports ongoing mission readiness and extends the facility's service life.
